Permanent Migration Program for 2025–26 remains the same

Permanent migration set at 185,000 places 

The Australian Government has confirmed  that the Permanent Migration Program for 2025–26 will be maintained at 185,000 . These are the same numbers as the 2024–25 Program.

The decisions to maintain the same numbers follows discussions with states and territories, with an emphasis on the importance of skilled migration.

It is expected that there will be demand across employer-sponsored, skilled independent, and state and territory nominated visa categories. The Subclass 190 & Subclass 491 visas.

Our take away 

As we have deatiled  previously,  the DHA recently held an invitation round for  Subclass 189 visas.  Following this confirmation, we anticpate that the states/territories will recieve their allocations and open their 2025-26 programs.
